History of Riverside Life at Riverside Faculty and Staff Board of Trustees

Melanie Donahue Melanie Donahue has been a lover of music ever since she can remember.  She can remember writing songs and making homemade instruments.  It was this great love for music that steered her in the direction of teaching music  and composing.  Her creative style reflects in her teaching, where composition is incorporated into each lesson for students to demonstrate the theory that they have learned while learning the compositional process.  Students create their own compositions using a variety of instruments working independently, in small groups, and in larger groups and then sharing with one another.   Students will also learn to use notation and recording applications to enhance their compositions. Each class will create their own composition for each concert to show what they have learned to their families.
