LANGUAGE ARTS
The language arts curriculum in Kindergarten through 5th grade
is one which encompasses multiple complex, sequential, standardized
and individualized objectives, primarily focused on the broadening
of the studies on knowledge base and skills in varied forms
of communication, such as reading, writing, and speaking. Each
student will be expected to master specific course requirements
while concurrently working on weaknesses and further developing
strengths. All literary genres will be explored; formal and
creative writing skills will be developed, etc. Course requirements,
presentation, and expectation will be at and above state level
guidelines for grade level. The curriculum, based on Vermont's
Framework has built in on going evaluation, standardized and
individualized, for the class and individual student, continually
administered formally and informally.
